We believe in the power of questions, dialogue, problem posing, and envisioning a future that we can all co-create. All of our workshops are interactive, participant-centered, fun and focused on building trust through genuine connection in the group. We draw on the methodologies from Theater of the Oppressed, Social Justice Pedagogy, and Asset Based Community Development. We pride ourselves on culturally responsive and authentic practices that lay the foundation for social emotional learning.
Our capacity building workshops teach participants how to conduct the art-integrated techniques, activities and philosophy we utilize. Ideal for leaders who wish to continue to host their own sessions, and interested in becoming facilitators.
Our sessions include a consultation and support with implementation.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Exploration, performance, games and growing in leadership is part of the process of weilding creative talents. More importantly, our process focuses the helping young people realize that what they produce can impact live and make a real diffferent in the world. We bring in our team of master artists to teach their crafts in theater, film, spoken word, photoraphy and music, and mixed media. Young people share their voice and opinions through project-based learning and active community engagement.
Our latest offering has become one of favorites. We create opportunities for parents and community members to celebrate their heritage an feel togetherness and support among each other, and discuss the difficult questions their children are dealing with. While many programs exist for young people, adults and senior citizens populations receive fewer resources to process their experiences in a healthy, creative way.
We find it particularly effective to work with families where young people are enrolled in our programs so they develop common language and modes of expression.
We curate powerful content and partner with artists to produce experiential programming. From annual invitational retreats, to EP release shows, to original youth performances, we think about every aspect of an event so that there is high participation, and strong sense of connections. We've hosted programs in New Jersey and New York Venues including the Mile Square Theater, Bronx Museum of Arts, El Puente for Peace and Justice
